Great read! What do you think is upstream of trust within a teammate? How do you think you create/foster trust in the context of a startup?

Great question! In my experience, it comes along with a track record of ownership and getting things done consistently, no matter how exciting or boring the work. For example, you don't want to be known as the person who only works hard when the project is exciting—so much of a startup is boring work.

The people I trust the most are those who consistently own, deliver, and communicate well over multiple instances on both exciting and boring work. This basically translates to good work ethic, good communication skills, problem solving, and self-sufficiency to own and deliver a solution.
